Clump-forming, evergreen perennial with rosettes of oblong, pinnate or 2-pinnate, mid- to gray green leaves. Golden yellow flower heads, can measure up to 4 inches across. Light green foliage. Strong scented foliage, scentless flowers. Excellent for cut and dried flowers, fragrant, requires division, good for naturalizing, attracts butterflies, mainly deer resistant, these plants can spread quickly and may invade natural areas. Trim back plants after flowering by one-third to a half, they will rebloom approximately one month later, although with less free-flowering performance.
